It's always an interesting experience meeting an artist; to chat about what inspires them, brings joy, their passions, their perspectives, their life experiences... and how all of that together somehow translates into the creative process and what will be applied to the canvas.

Art has been Elena Popova's passion since she was a child and she experienced it in many forms and media throughout her life.

A few years ago, Elena started her journey in oil and acrylic painting. She continues to study with various prominent artists and implements different styles and subjects; mostly traditional realism but also impressionism and abstract. Elena often enjoys working on fantasy art, intuitive painting as well as rock and driftwood projects. Elena's work is inspired by colors, light and shadows, texture and shapes of nature. She draws inspirations from her beautiful surroundings in the Annapolis Royal area.
