The Flight of Fancy would like to acknowledge that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People whose presence here reaches back to time immemorial. We honour their long history of welcoming many Nations to this land.
The Bear River itself defines the border between the counties of Annapolis and Digby and distinguishes the village as one close-knit community. Remarkably, this village of approximately 800 residents, is run by volunteers as there is no town government. The people of Bear River are friendly, community-minded and especially welcoming to those “from away”.
We invite you to take a drive to the quaint village on stilts located at the head of the tidewaters of the Bear River along the picturesque Evangeline Trail in Nova Scotia. The village is bustling with small business and home to multiple art galleries, shops, cafes, restaurant, pub, convenience store and gas station.
