Kim Cartwright hails from the wilds of south central British Columbia; beside a lake and on a cattle ranch.  She trained at the School of Fine Arts and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Alberta.

Kim’s work is directly influenced by the beauty of our natural world. She routinely utilizes found materials in her pieces: bone is found on the Nova Scotia beaches; antler from her father’s collection of ‘sheds’. Wood is either gathered from the forest floor or recycled from friends’ woodworking or silviculture. Twine is recycled fishing net twine and cord is new.

Kim has called Nova Scotia home for several decades now and resides in Bear River.
