Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Betty Nelson-Daniel pursued an education in art.  In 1983, Betty began creating her signature mockingbirds inspired by her love of colour, drama and movement.  Mockingbirds mimic vestiges of human qualities, capturing the imaginationof all who view them.  

Betty's one-of-a-kind mockingbirds have found a home with collectors of fine art and craft worldwide. Using a variety of media and techniques to create them and is always exploring new and unusual materials.  A wire armature provides basic shape for each sculpture.  Materials such as leather, ribbon, and other adornment are then layered on to finish each original piece; which is the signed and dated by the artist.
